ION CARCHELAN  is a watercolor artist based in the Republic of Moldova.

I paint with watercolor using the technique wet on wet. Watercolor for me is a pleasurable mystery.  The more I paint the more I fall in love with it. Only a woman is that mysterious, and each time I want from it something new. To paint with a wet brush on wet paper, you must first have a sense of colors. Sometimes it’s best to simply surrender to the colors, to let them play their own game. But, always there is the need for control and precision. I’m convinced that this interplay is the most difficult of all painting techniques. I consider that watercolor is a euphoria into which we surrender and lose ourselves.
