Chiara Ciolacoff is a student at DSBU Bucharest (11 years old) in the 6th grade. "I like to combine colours in a personal way and discover what suits me. I take everything as a game, a serious game! If I were to give one piece of advice to other children, it would be to always do art for pleasure and with passion, otherwise it is in vain!" -- Chiara Ciolacoff

Artist Statement

I am a student at DSBU Bucharest in the 6th grade.

I am a girl like any other girl my age, 11 years old. I love to paint, sing, dance and surround myself with everything that is beautiful and inspires me. I paint with my sister all the time. I, through my painting, manage to show all my inner feelings. Through art I express myself best! I like to discover new techniques, and we can do this thanks to our painting teacher Roxana Vlad, who is always with us. She guides my steps every time in the art of painting. I love to paint flowers, birds, ballerinas and portraits. Like my sister, Maria, I combine easel work with piano lessons. I am now preparing Beethoven's Fur Elise, which I would like to present in a piano concert at our first opening. I paint with pleasure in the company of classical music, which is with us and through our mother, an actress and opera artist. I hope that my training together with Mrs Roxana Vlad will be fulfilling in the future. I like to combine colours in a personal way and discover what suits me. I take everything as a game, a serious game! If I were to give one piece of advice to other children, it would be to always do art for pleasure and with passion, otherwise it is in vain!
